Consumer Protection

Legal Services Corporation’s most recent Justice Gap Report shared that consumer and finance is one of the most common types of civil legal problems experienced by low-income older adults’ households. Older adults are also frequently targeted by fraudulent schemes and scams, many of which go unreported and often result in significant loss of income and assets. Advocates can help older adults by responding to debt collectors and collection lawsuits, and advocating for legal protections to aid older adults who have been defrauded.
